Moscow, April 2020 – Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced the results of the successful deployment of Infor LN at HMS Group. HMS Group is a leading manufacturer of pumps and compressor equipment for the oil and gas industries, power generation and utilities sector in Eastern Europe.
To achieve its strategic goals, HMS Group uses a multi-functional solution based on Infor LN, which is able to optimize supply chain management, production and project activities. Through the efforts of Infor partner IPL Consulting and HMS Group LN competency center, was deployed the Infor LN system which covers JSC Hydromashservice, the group’s merged trading company, and a key production asset of the Industrial Pumps Division. In the future, this deployment is expected to be replicated to other companies in the group.
A key feature of the project is the transition to a single, centrally-managed system based on Infor LN. The project was accompanied by the introduction of new Master data managemant rules, as well as organizational innovations that ensure timely and correct input of data by system users on the ground.
The full-scale implementation of the ERP system at one of the most important production sites of HMS Group covers the production planning and operational management, stock movement, procurement and shipment of finished goods. All company products are planned and tracked in Infor LN.
Along with the Infor LN implementation, a product data management (PDM) system is also being introduced. At the Industrial Pumps Division, the process of simultaneous implementation of two systems and their integration was worked out. This solution allowed for the optimization of the interaction of design services and production.
“At the selection stage, it was significant for us that Infor LN is used by the world’s largest engineering leaders, including manufacturers of pumps and compressors. It is important for us that the system contains the optimal business processes for our industry and best practices in operational management and planning for various types of production. In addition, Infor LN’s wide capabilities in managing a multi-tier, multisite geographically-dispersed group of companies in a single information system also was a decisive factor,” said Mikhail Vasilevsky, HMS Group CIO. “The difficult tasks of the implementation project were realized thanks to the in-depth expertise of the IPL Consulting team and the established cooperation with the competence center of the HMS Group.”
“The creation of a competence center contributed to the achievement of the implementation project and made it possible to independently conduct part of the work to support the solution. We transferred knowledge, best practices, and methods to the customer,” says Vladimir Kapustin, Chief Operating Officer IPL Consulting. “By joint efforts, the problem of operational interaction between production and the engineering center, which is very painful for many Russian engineering enterprises, was successfully and fully resolved.”
“Today’s market conditions pose challenges for any Russian business. It is necessary to simultaneously achieve cost reduction and continuous improvement of product quality. Infor solutions, used for decades in complex manufacturing industries, help our customers succeed by assisting in addressing these tasks,” said Dmitry Martynov, Infor’s official representative in Russia and the CIS. “Our software helps customers adapt to any changes as quickly as possible, helps provide transparency in production processes, and expands accounting, planning and supply capabilities”.
The plans of the HMS Group include further development of the system, as well as it’s consistent implementation at production sites in all divisions.
